when you adjust camber/caster should the stub axles be loosened on x2-cik? When I bought mine from the previous owner he said no, but it seems odd and hard to turn if not loosening.

Hi, snapo, you should certainly loosen them off slightly when you're adjusting the camber/castor (not too much, just to make the nuts turn smoothly). I loosen them off for the obvious reasons of making it easier on your tools, your hands and your kart. it can also damage the powder coat if you move the adjusters too much while tight. you may notice as you loosen them that the camber and toe will change slightly and again when you tighten them, this is why some say to do it tight, however I find doing it loose is better overall, just correct that small amount once they're tight if it has moved while doing up the bolts.
you should also note that with the bonus of 10mm king pins and the updated style adjustors proving to be stronger and easier to set up, they do need to be tightened very firmly to ensure they don't move and alter your alignment while driving.
